S3nding

Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

S3nding is a desktop application that allows users to upload files to their own S3-compatible storage buckets. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our practices.

This Privacy Policy explains how S3nding handles your data. The short version: we don't collect any of your personal information.

2. Data We Collect

S3nding does not collect any personal data. Specifically:

  • No account required: You don't need to create an account or provide any personal information to use S3nding.
  • No analytics or tracking: We do not use any analytics tools, trackers, or telemetry to monitor your usage.
  • No data transmission to us: S3nding never sends your data to our servers because we don't have any servers that receive user data.

3. Data Stored Locally

S3nding stores the following information locally on your device:

  • S3 bucket credentials: Your access keys, secret keys, endpoint URLs, and bucket names are stored locally on your computer to enable connections to your storage providers.
  • Application preferences: Your settings and preferences are stored locally to personalize your experience.

This data never leaves your device and is never transmitted to S3nding or any third party. You have full control over this data and can delete it at any time by uninstalling the application or clearing its data.

4. Network Connections

S3nding only makes network connections to:

  • Your S3-compatible storage providers: When you upload or manage files, S3nding connects directly to the storage endpoints you have configured (such as AWS S3, Cloudflare R2, Backblaze B2, etc.).
  • Update checks (optional): S3nding may check for application updates. This does not transmit any personal information.

S3nding acts as a bridge between you and your storage providers. We never intercept, store, or have access to the files you upload.

5. Third-Party Services

S3nding does not share any data with third parties because we don't collect any data in the first place. Your files are uploaded directly to your own storage buckets, and those transfers are governed by the privacy policies of your chosen storage providers.

We recommend reviewing the privacy policies of your S3-compatible storage providers to understand how they handle your data.

6. Security

Since S3nding operates entirely on your local machine and doesn't transmit data to external servers (other than your configured storage providers), your data security depends on:

  • The security of your local device
  • The security practices of your chosen storage providers
  • How you manage your S3 credentials

We recommend keeping your operating system updated, using strong passwords, and following best practices for managing API credentials.

7. Children's Privacy

S3nding does not collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13. Since no data collection occurs, there are no special provisions needed for children's data.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Since we don't collect your contact information, we encourage you to review this policy periodically.

10. Summary

In plain terms: S3nding respects your privacy completely. We don't collect your data, we don't track you, and we don't require an account. Your files go directly from your computer to your storage buckets, and we're not involved in that process beyond providing the software that makes it happen.
